Qingshan Zhou Ping was not interested in architecture when he was a child. His dream was to be a football player. In high school, Aoyama Zhou Ping began to contact books on architecture.

“My father is in the construction industry. There are many books related to architecture at home. Unlike the current printed books, many of the design books I saw at the time were hand-painted.”

Under the influence of the masterpieces of Danxiajian Sanyi, he gradually changed his ambitions, and Japan at that time was also undergoing rapid changes. "Many architectural designs can change society and even become a symbol of the country and the times."

Qingshan Zhou Ping entered the university with the idea of ​​“building society by architecture”, but he found that “this kind of ambition is almost over until my end”.

In 2005, when he was about to graduate, Japan experienced the first negative population growth, and the trend of aging is becoming more and more serious. "When I finally started to turn my dream into a career, the building has changed and can no longer solve many societies. And the city's problems."

Therefore, he called himself "the last generation of traditional Japanese architecture students."

However, in the economic and environmental changes in recent years, Aoyama Zhou Ping has seen new possibilities.

He found that the current Internet APP service is changing the entire city, whether it is car software, takeaway service or shared travel.

“I didn’t think of such a sight when I was a child. At that time, I believed that designing architecture was the best way to change the life of the city.”

China’s hutong life brought him the initial inspiration. Qingshan Zhou Ping spent 12 years in China, including 8 years in an alley in Beijing’s Second Ring Road. “My understanding of home, thinking about the concept of home They are all a concept slowly formed from my own experience in the Hutong."

Qingshan Zhouping’s home is only 40 square meters, opposite a young couple living together, they use a yard together. After a long time, Qingshan Zhou Ping discovered that it is not only the yard that can be shared. For the people in the hutong, the boundary of the "home" is not clear.

At first, Qingshan Zhou Ping could not understand the men who were naked in the hutong, but he later understood that for those living in the hutong, the whole area was designated as their relatively private space, and they were able to Living constrainedly, "I believe in the hutong, they will naturally wear clothes."

Qingshan Zhouping gradually got used to this lifestyle. He described the market for two or three minutes from his home as his refrigerator. The yard in the hutong was his living room, and the cafe next to it was the equivalent of his study.

"400 box" is my answer

In 2016, Qingshan Zhou Ping proposed the idea of “400-box community city”.

The so-called "400 Box" is not only a concept of a wide range of "home", but also a reduced version of the urban space, including daily functions such as residence, work, study, leisure, communication, and production.

The "400 Box Shared Community" has seven floors, each with about 60 separate boxes, and wheels under the boxes, all of which are free to move.

After proposing this idea, Aoyama Zhou Ping heard many questions of doubt. Many people think that his ideas are contrary to people's living habits, but Qingshan Zhou Ping believes that the demand for private housing is not a natural choice for human beings:

He does not advocate that everyone lives in such a shared community, but he believes that this is undoubtedly the best choice for many people today.
